contents O Impacto das Regras de Organização do Processo Legislativo no Comportamento dos Parlamentares: Um Estudo de Caso da Assembléia Nacional Constituinte (1987-1988) Sandra Gomes Sociología standing orders procedural rules legislative choices Constitutional Congress This article discusses the importance of considering legislative procedureswhen analyzing voting behavior by legislators and thus for understandingpolitical choices in decision-making contexts organized by majority rule. Inorder to test the impact of procedural rules on voting choices, the authoranalyzes the two Standing Orders of the Brazilian Constitutional Congress(1987-88) as a case study, showing the effects of legislative and votingprocedures on the characteristics (scope and substantive aspects) of the newConstitution. It thus becomes possible to compare, within the same politicalenvironment, the impact of the 1st and 2nd Standing Orders on the choicesmade by Brazilian national legislators. The analysis shows that priorinformation on individual preferences is not sufficient to predict the outcome. 2006 artículo científico 0011-5258 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=21849108 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=218 Dados - Revista de Ciências Sociais application/pdf Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro Dados - Revista de Ciências Sociais (Brasil) Num.1 Vol.49
