contents Negociações Coletivas e o Poder Normativo da Justiça do Trabalho Carlos Henrique Horn Sociología trade unions labor relations collective bargaining normative power of the Labor Court System The article describes the exercise of normative power by the Brazilian LaborCourt System and examines the possible consequences of rulings by theSuperior Labor Court (TST) on collective bargaining in the 1980s and 1990s.The case law of the TST, consolidated through normative case precedents andother instruments, is analyzed by constructing indicators to evaluate theHigher Court´s approach. The results demonstrate a significant change duringthe 1990s, when the TST increasingly declined to rule on collective agreements, after having taken a more proactive line in the 1980s. The article suggests thatduring both decades the approach adopted by the Superior Labor Court hadan affect on the collective bargaining process 2006 artículo científico 0011-5258 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=21849206 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=218 Dados - Revista de Ciências Sociais application/pdf Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro Dados - Revista de Ciências Sociais (Brasil) Num.2 Vol.49
