The genus Lecane of the family Lecanidae is common in littoral areas and in eutrophic environments. The zooplankton organisms of Igarapé Jesumira (7º28¿10.2¿S and 73º33¿54.6¿W) were collected and measurements of limnological variables were made on September 12, 2008. The organisms were caught using pond nets with a 50-¿m mesh size and were preserved in 4% formaldehyde. The study of this plankton sampling from Igarapé Jesumira demonstrated the first occurrence of Lecane monostyla in the state of Acre, Brazil.
