- Problemas de empleo en América Latina Alejandro Valle Baeza Estudios Culturales In Latin America, like other undeveloped regions as well, precarious employment isthe most important problem for workers. In this paper it is argued that precariousemployment had been a huge Latinamerican problem during fifty years, at least.Conventional economics explains employment problems because market imperfections, like excessive regulatory laws in favor of workers. In accordance withsuch explanation, lowering wages, diminishing workers rights and increasing foreignercompetition would solve employment problems. Based on Marxist approach, adifferent view is stated: the huge precarious employment in Latin America is explainednot by market imperfections but by higher organic composition of capital inundeveloped countries. Hence, current employment economic policies will impoverishemployed workers without absorbing a significant share of precarious workers. 2002 artículo científico 0188-7742 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=26701706 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=267 Política y Cultura application/pdf Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Política y Cultura (México) Num.17
