Pierdant Rodríguez Estudios Culturales The electric companies in Latin America have been in crises in their operation fieldand growth since the last century. This situation has created in some cases governmentpolicies to sell those companies to the private sector. These policies suppose to increase the performance, efficiency and the profitability of those companies, but that solutiondoesnt seems to be correct at present time and also in their future. One of thiscompanies is the Federal Commission of Electricity in Mexico, which is a special caseof development, efficiency and profitability. Our objectives with this article are tostudy and analyze the budget and financial position of the Federal Commission ofElectricity to estimate his degree of efficiency and profitability.
