ZULRIZKA ISKANDAR Política Engagement Parent support Academic buoyancy Basic need satisfaction The purpose of this study is to test the model of the influence of support from parents on engagement through basic psychological needs satisfaction on middle school students. Participants in this study were 1352 students. The hypothesized model demonstrated a good fit with the data (RMSEA = .058; CFI = .993; NFI= .991; GFI = .961). It can be concluded that engagement can be formed by parents’ support through the mediation of internal processes within students. The findings reinforce the importance of the role of parents as part of the social context to fulfil basic psychological needs. 2020 artículo científico 1316-5216 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=27964115014 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/279/27964115014/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/279/27964115014/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/279/27964115014/27964115014.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/279/27964115014/movil https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.3987593 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=279 Utopía y Praxis Latinoamericana application/pdf Universidad del Zulia Utopía y Praxis Latinoamericana (República Bolivariana de Venezuela) Num.6 Vol.25
