contents The Future of European Values AC Grayling Historia FPTP Brexit Secularism Enlightenment European Union The EU’s values of transnational peace, cooperation, secularism, rationality, and protection of civil liberties and human rights are amongst the most valuable legacies of the Enlightenment. The European project has weathered several crises in the first third of the 21st century, including a change of political direction in the United Kingdom. Brexit is viewed as a consequence of the UK’s flawed electoral system, exposed as susceptible to hijacking by militant and disruptive minorities. The future of European values must be protected from politically unreliable systems such as the UK’s FPTP. 2020 artículo científico 1575-6823 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=28268121002 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/282/28268121002/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/282/28268121002/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/282/28268121002/28268121002.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/282/28268121002/movil en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=282 Araucaria.
