| contents | The Enlargement of Competences of the European Union between State Sovereignty and the so-called European “Sovereignty”: Focus on the Limits of Applicability of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union Angela Di Stasi Historia Sovereignty European demos Peculiarity of the EU European Charter of Fundamental Rights (Enlargement of the) Competences of the EU Starting from an overview on the current crisis in the European integration process, caused inter alia by the emergence of forms of “souverainisms”, the following paper focuses on the peculiarity of the European Union phenomenon and on the effects of the gradual enlargement of the European competences with respect to the classical concept of sovereignty. In this view, some observations will be made around the subtle limit which separates the EU competence from the one of its member States.
