- Morbimortalidad materna en el Hospital de Caldas, Manizales Eduardo León Jaramillo Medicina This paper analyses the morbidityand mortality profile of obstetricpatients admitted to Hospital de Caldas(HC), Manizales, Colombia, fromJanuary, 1993 to December, 1995.Abortion was the main cause of hospitaladmission. The maternal mortalityrate was 231.5/100,000 live births.Preeclampsia-eclampsia was the firstcause of maternal death. Cesareansection was the most common surgicalprocedure. One of 4 deliveries wasattended by Cesarean section.Cephalopelvic disproportion was theprimary indication in 16.2% of allCesarean sections.
