- Costos de producción en la cría de pollos de engorde Rafael Orozco Campo Agustín Romero Medina Rosana Meleán Romero Administración y Contabilidad Broiler chicken production costs poultry production vertical integration This research centered its analysis on the production costs of broiler chicken in the following companies located in Municipios Mara, La Cañada de Urdaneta and JesusEnrique Lossada, Zulia State, Venezuela: Pinpollo, Vilva, Avicola de Occidente, Protinal,Proave, Souto and Criazuca. A study was made of the Venezuelan governmental politicalagricultural policy, and the productive policy and cost structures of each company wereanalyzed. The research was biographical-empirical, descriptive and non-experimental. Theconclusions were that production costs represented 71% of the total cost, the purchase ofthe baby chicks at the beginning of the productive cycle, was 13% of the cost andconstituted the basis of the vertical integration in the poultry industry.
