Method. Three instruments; Student Cumulative Grade Point (CGPA) Information Format (SCIF); Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLEIS) and Nicolas Holt Creativity Test (NHCT) were used to collect data on the emotional intelligence, creativity and the academic achievement of a sample of 235 subjects. Results. There is a very low negative, no significant relationship between creativity and CGPA scores (r=-.004, p>.05). There was no significant difference between male and female students¿ academic achievement, creativity and emotional intelligence. Discussion and Conclusions. An emotionally intelligent student in the Polytechnic system is likely to be creative but not likely to be a high academic achiever.
