- Educação e participação no Brasil: um retrato aproximativo de trabalhos entre 1995 e 2003 Elie Ghanem Educación Participação Escola Educação Pais Participation School Education Parents The paper examines sixty titles related to the topic of Education andParticipation in Brazil produced by universities from the SoutheastRegion. The works were grouped, according to the approachadopted here, into two dimensions: a) participation at school; b)democratic administration in school reform programs. The firstgroup of works puts more emphasis on one of the followingaspects: teacher participation; community participation; formalmechanisms of participation; parental participation; studentparticipation. Works from the other group focus on: schoolsupervision; teacher participation; community participation; formalmechanisms of participation. As a conclusion, this work identifiesgaps that could be filled by new research in a variety of issues, suchas: the relationship between teacher participation and that of othergroups; initiatives supported both by the upper administrativebodies and by social organizations; features of the work of thosebodies; experiments bringing together mobilization and innovativeconceptions in education; comparisons between schools as to theirfinancial autonomy; the ability of the category parents to displaycollective behavior; how do teachers treat parents and how thelatter treat their children; the sharing of functions among differenteducational agents; the collaboration offered by parents to theschool according to pupil´s age and wealth; rigorous comparisonsbetween public and private schools; student participation accordingto age group and topics of interest; participation in other types ofpublic services; influence of poor job stability and of volatility ofteams at school; participation in evaluation (of projects, schools andpolicies). 2004 artículo científico 1517-9702 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=29830109 pt http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=298 Educação e Pesquisa application/pdf Universidade de São Paulo Educação e Pesquisa (Brasil) Num.1 Vol.30
