contents Steel waste used in reducing emissions of nitrous oxide Tássia Caroline Passos Pereira Marcelo da Silva Batista Ingeniería reuse catalyst pollution Greenhouse gas characterization Gross wastes of the steel industry were eval uated as catalyst for the reduction of nitrous oxide. The wastes were obtained from steel mill residues (MS), lamination (LA), quenching (QC) and blast furnace powder (BF) and characterized by X-ra y fluorescence (XRF), X- ray diffraction (XRD) and hydrogen temperature-programmed reduction (H 2 -TPR). Results revealed Si, Ca, S, Rh, Fe, Cr, Mn and Cu for all wastes, with iron fe aturing the greatest amount. H 2 -TPR analyses showed H 2 consumption peaks associated with rhodium oxide, also detected by XRF. The content of comparative rhodium oxide in samples was: MS > LA > QC > BF. N 2 O conversion increases with increase in temperature for all catalysts. The activity of the catalysts MS > LA > QC > BF was related to rhodium oxide rate in the wastes. 2017 artículo científico 1806-2563 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=303252892011 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/3032/303252892011/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/3032/303252892011/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/3032/303252892011/303252892011.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/3032/303252892011/movil en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=3032 Acta Scientiarum.
