| contents | Una mirada sobre los estudios culturales latinoamericanos Ana Carolina Escosteguy Estudios Culturales Latin America Social Research Cultural Studies This article attempts to build up a narrative about Latin Americancultural studies from a particular point of view which sees the mass mediaas a fragment within the broad scope proposed by the project of culturalstudies. The main focus is to identify the emergence of this field,its position in relation to other academic disciplines, and its objects ofstudy, mainly reception studies. Such studies constitute one of the mostimportant empirical research themes that have been contributing to tlieconfiguration of Latin American cultural studies.
