| contents | Brazilian regionalization in the first half of the 20th century Fábio de Oliveira Matos Geografía Social Brazil Natural Region Regionalization Historical Geography This work aims to analyze the process of Brazilian regionalization throughout the first half of the 20th century. For that, I conducted an analysis of the bases of construction of the regional planning and its relation with the organization of the beginning of Brazil-Republic, from the perspective of Historical Geography. The operational procedure of the research was carried out in two moments: first, a bibliographical search about concepts and themes was done, such as regionalization, natural region and regional planning. Secondly, I applied documentary surveys on the regionalization plans developed in Brazil in the selected period, with emphasis on the prospect of what would be consolidated as Brazilian regions.
