contents Reforma de pensiones en América Latina: orígenes y estrategias, 1980-2002 Rossana Castiglioni Política This research note offers a revision of the structural pension reforms that took place in Latin America from1980 to 2002 and of the main institutional and political explanations of why these countries adopted suchdissimilar reform strategies. The revision analyzes the eligibility rules, levels of benefits, and structure ofold age, disability and survivability of contributory pension programs. Moreover, it examines the mainvariables that the political science literature identifies when explaining this variation: regime type, thepressure of international financial institutions, the distribution of governmental authority, the ideologicalpositions of the relevant political actors, and the role of veto players. 2005 artículo científico 0716-1417 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=32425209 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=324 Revista de Ciencia Política application/pdf Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile Revista de Ciencia Política (Chile) Num.2 Vol.25
