The younger intrusion consists of aninversely zoned multistage structure envolved by a large early emplaced ring of megaporphyritic charnoenderbiticrocks. The combination of field, petrographic and geochemical data reveals the presence of at least two different seriesof igneous rocks. The first originated from the partial melting of the mantle. This was previously enriched inincompatible elements, low and intermediate REE and some HFS-elements. A second enrichment in LREEand incompatible elements in this serieswas due to the mingling with a crustal granitic magma. This minglingprocess changed the composition of the original tholeiitic magma towards a medium-K calc-alkalic magmato produce a suite of basic to intermediate rock types. The granitic magma from the second high-K, calc-alkalic suite originated from the partial melting of thecontinental crust, but with strong influence of mantle-derived melts. 2001 artículo científico 0001-3765 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=32773109 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=327 Anais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências application/pdf Academia Brasileira de Ciências Anais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências (Brasil) Num.1 Vol.73
