Shallowerthan 16 meters the contours are parallel to the shoreline whereas the morphology of the deeper bottom isinfluenced by the Menina, Mãe, and Pai islands. Medium sand is prevalent, with local variations in moreprotected or less protected areas. Minor amount of black mud possibly derives from the Itaipú Lagoon.Siliciclastic granules and pebbles may be relict.
