This importanttectonic marker of the geological evolution of southernmost Brazilian Shield was thoroughly serpentinizedduring progressive metamorphism, because the oldest mineral assemblage is: olivine + orthopyroxene +tremolite + chlorite + chromite. ThisM1 was stabilized in mid amphibolite facies – 550-600oC as calculatedfrom mineral equilibria. No microstructural (e.g. ductile deformation of olivine or chromite) or compositional(e.g. mantle spinel) remnant of mantle history was identified. A metamorphic event M2 occurred in the lowamphibolite facies along 100 m-wide shear zones, followed by intense serpentinization (M3) and narrow 1-3m-wide shear zones (M4) containing asbestos. 2003 artículo científico 0001-3765 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=32775112 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=327 Anais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências application/pdf Academia Brasileira de Ciências Anais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências (Brasil) Num.1 Vol.75
