This muddy core reached a sandy ground at 133 cm.14C datation got the age of 1760 ± 50 years B.P. The most frequent pollen grains were mangrove species ofRhizophora mangle, Laguncularia racemosa and Avicennia schaueriana. “ Restinga” and tropical rain forestvegetation was recognized behind the mangrove. After the last sea transgression at 2500 years B.P., the waterlevel lowered to its actual size, allowing the installation of this mangrove. 2006 artículo científico 0001-3765 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=32778204 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=327 Anais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências application/pdf Academia Brasileira de Ciências Anais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências (Brasil) Num.2 Vol.78
