contents Congenital Paraduodenal Hernia: A Case Report Camilo Vásquez-Maya María José Donado-Jiménez Pedro Zapata-Uribe Medicina acute abdomen small intestine Abdominal hernia surgical procedures Paraduodenal hernia is a rare congenital anomaly that arises from an alteration in the midgut rotation during embryogenesis. Consequently, the small intestine becomes trapped in a sac of the posterior mesentery of the colon. This entity can compromise the intestinal segment’s viability and the patient’s life. Its diagnosis is difficult, rarely suspected, and often confused with other causes of abdominal pain. We present the case of a 29-year-old male patient with a documented paraduodenal hernia during surgery, its correction, and follow-up, in which no complications were reported. 2023 otro 0120-9957 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=337779447013 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/3377/337779447013/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/3377/337779447013/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/3377/337779447013/337779447013.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/3377/337779447013/movil 10.22516/25007440.895 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=3377 Revista Colombiana de Gastroenterología application/pdf Asociación Colombiana de Gastroenterologia Revista Colombiana de Gastroenterología (Colombia) Num.1 Vol.38
