- PSYCHOANALYTIC RESEARCH: HOW TO LOCATE SUBJECTIVITY IN CONTEMPORARY CULTURE Ian Parker Psicología method culture discourse Spartacus psychoanalysis This paper makes an argument for psychoanalysis in academic research, setting out four main components the unconscious, speech, sensuality and defences that form the basis of psychoanalytic research. The use of psychoanalysis in thispaper is contrasted with reductionist approaches, and it elaborates instead a styleof analysis that will be able to attend to the way psychoanalysis operates as part ofdiscourse. An example of analysis organised around analytic steps is given whichfocuses on scenes from the film Spartacus, and connections are then made withLacanian perspectives. Psychoanalytic research can be used to illustrate how whatfeels to be so deep inside us is actually a symptom of life under capitalism. 2003 artículo científico 1413-2907 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=35401602 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=354 Interações application/pdf Universidade São Marcos Interações (Brasil) Num.16 Vol.VIII
