contents Foreign jesuit indipetæ. Mathematical teachings and mathematical books at the colégio das Artes in Coimbra in the 2nd half of the 17th Century Noël Golvers Historia This contribution tends to show three interrelated points: (1) the reputedly ´low´ level of mathematical instruction in Coimbra was not all that exceptional, even in a larger European context. Moreover, (2) it offers new prosopographical evidence on the engagement of non-Portuguese Jesuit Indipetae in mathematical instruction at the Colégio das Artes in Coimbra, who so far were not recognized as such; (3) it discusses some evidence on the presence of up-to-date mathematical books in the same milieu. All three observations are limited to the 2nd half of the 17th century, especially the period 1656-1692. 2007 artículo científico 0874-8438 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=36101402 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=361 Bulletin of Portuguese - Japanese Studies application/pdf Universidade Nova de Lisboa Bulletin of Portuguese - Japanese Studies (Portugal) Num.14
