  • EL PARTO Y EL NACIMIENTO EN LA MODERNIDAD . UNA VISIÓN CON PERSPECTIVA DE GÉNERO DESDE LA ENFERMERÍA OBSTÉTRICA . Leida C. Montero C. Salud birth Childbirth obstetric nursing technocratic model gender perspective The stu dy is part of the research lines on sexual and reproductive health, focusing on the repro duct ive processes of women: labor and childbirth, events that obstetrics - in the hands of the heg emonic biomedical model - has expropriated from women's bodies. In order to clarify this fact, we need to unveil the collective imaginary about labo r and childbirth, constructed by nurses through their hospital praxis. We frame the theoretical view from feminism as a theory and ar gumentative epistemology from the patriarcha l conceptio n of the wo rld a round the woman. We ap propriate the category of gender as a n alytical methodology following the qualitative approach. The research group was composed of five nurses with a Master in Nursing Science, over 5 years of professional experience in the labor room at the "Dr. José María Carabaño Tosta" I.V.S.S. (Venezu elan Institute of Social Security - Government health care) in Maracay City/Aragua state. The representativeness of the research was gu aranteed by the quality of the in formation ob tain ed th rou g h the sa tura tio n p oin t o f kno wledg e.
