- Edward Rivera´s family installments: an agonistic reading Alfredo Villanueva-Collado Sociología This essay constitutes a response to Family Installments from the stance of a reader, a writer, and a member of the Puertorrican community in New York. I´ve called it "agonistic" fromthe Greek agon-debate or discussion. In it, I explore my uneasy, dialectical and ultimately dynamic relationship to Rivera´s text in terms of the meaning of migration, exile, cultural fetishes, and dominant discourse, providing an outlet for a personal voice which has been absent from my previous approaches to this novel. 2002 artículo científico 1538-6279 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=37711290013 es http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=377 Centro Journal application/pdf The City University of New York Centro Journal (Estados Unidos de América) Num.1 Vol.XIV
