However, the construction of woodmade houses is limited due to the durability and aesthetic apprearance of houses. The durability is normally and substantially increased by impregnation with chemical products with fungicide, bactericidal and algaecidal actions. Aesthetis on the other hand, is improved by painting. Both act as barriers against damage from solar radiation, heat and humidity. In this paper, some issues associated with the problems were addressed by studying the effect of different paints and sealants on slash pine (Pinus elliottii) wood, with and without flaws like knots. The behavior of a set of combinations of treatments of CCA impregnated test samples was evaluated using IRAM 1023 norm (Argentina). The surfaces were prepared according to IRAM 1047 and 1031 norms and the tests were performed under natural and accelerated intemperism conditions.
