Díaz Aguirre Tatiana Delgado Fernández Geología IoT FIWARE IoT architecture Internet of things The Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept that has been gaining considerable popularity today. It attempts to represent everyday things that are connected to the internet, but in reality it is much more than that. The overall aim is to interconnect the physical with the digital world, as the physical world is measured by sensors which translates into actionable data, and also the data can be translated into commands to be executed by actuators.Currently, the number of designed IoT architectures has increased considerably as a result of different approaches, standards and use cases. This leads to difficulties in understanding, selecting and using these architectures. In this work, an IoT architecture based on the FIWARE platform is proposed with the aim of facilitating the development of smart cities. With the proposal made, it was possible to integrate the main elements to be considered in this technology, thus offering a basis that serves as a guide, both for developing IoT systems and for creating more specific architectures that respond to the particular characteristics of a given application.
