  • First record of the vermetid Petaloconchus varians (d’Orbigny, 1841) on floating marine debris at Ilha Grande, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil André Breves Luis Felipe Skinner Ciencias de la Tierra rafting Gastropoda Vermetidae Bioinvasion coastal zone This note aims to do the first record of the vermetid gastropod Petaloconchus varians rafting on floating marine debris. This record of the occurrence of the species at Ilha Grande (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is within its distribution range in the West Atlantic Ocean coast, however its distribution could be extended through antropogenic mechanisms. The dispersion of vermetids through floating debris should be investigated given the high potential of invasion by vermetids due to the increase in waste production. 2014 artículo científico 1646-8872 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=388340106013 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=3883 Revista de Gestão Costeira Integrada - Journal of Integrated Coastal Zone Management application/pdf Associação Portuguesa dos Recursos Hídricos Revista de Gestão Costeira Integrada - Journal of Integrated Coastal Zone Management (Portugal) Num.1 Vol.14
