- Application of Pronominal Divergence and Anaphora Resolution in English-Hindi Machine Translation Kamlesh Dutta Nupur Prakash Saroj Kaushik Computación anaphora Pronominal divergence machine translation So far the majority of Machine Translation (MT)research has focused on translation at the level of individualsentences. For sentence level translation, Machine Translationhas addressed various divergence issues for large variety oflanguages; the issue of pronominal divergence has beenpresented only recently. Since the quality of translation asrequired by users follows coherent multi-sentence discoursestructure in a specific context, the pronominal divergence helpsus in understanding the nuances of translation arising out ofdisparity in the languages. Subsequently using clues from thisdivergence, the anaphora resolution system can find the correctinterpretation for the given pronominal referents and otherentities by resolving the inter-sentential context. In the literature, researchers have examined the issue and have proposed ways fortheir classification and resolution of anaphora. However forIndic languages, not many studies are available. In this paper, wediscuss different aspects of pronominal divergence that affectsthe anaphora resolution in English Hindi Machine Translation(EHMT). The study shall be helpful in developing approachesthat can explicitly use inter-sentential information in order toresolve specific types of ambiguity and which can generatecoherent multi-sentence discourse structure in the targetlanguage to produce higher quality of translation MachineTranslation. 2009 artículo científico 1870-9044 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=402640452008 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=4026 Polibits application/pdf Instituto Politécnico Nacional Polibits (México) Vol.39
