  • “Nuestros gobernantes están llenos de dinero”. Construcción de Alteridades y sentimientos de pertenencia en torno al dinero. El caso de los Magermanes en Mozambique. Héctor Guerra Hernández Antropología Money Identity Mozambique To travel, to get dressed elegant, to show sophisticated sound devices, to of-fer gifts for the many girlfriends, to have access to consumer goods like re-frigerators, television sets, motorcycles... Histories of success and material well-being predominate in the stories of the Mozambican that worked in theGerman Democratic Republic. Substantial part of the earn was transferredto Mozambique. The extinction of the GDR caused the accelerated return ofthe known ones as Magermane, nevertheless many were able to organize con-tainers and transferred the accumulated material goods during their perma-nence in this country. It is more: they arrived economically “like rich” in acountry disintegrated social and economically, and knocked down by a frat-ricide war. But their history continues. The transferred remittances “disap-peared”. Nevertheless they “know” the whereabouts their money: bureaucratsof the Frelimo (the party in the power) would have become rich illicitly withthis money; private banks would have been formed, luxury condominiumswould have been constructed in Maputo, and thus ahead. This communica-tion try to explore the senses of money into the history of a specific socialgroup. About the memory from the wealth to the stories of an increasing andpresent poverty, the representations all around of the money are a decisive el-ement of identity for the Magermane, orients them in their political actionsand, mainly, it articulates his narratives about their supposed enemies. 2008 artículo científico 1809-4341 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=406941906006 es http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=4069 VIBRANT - Vibrant Virtual Brazilian Anthropology application/pdf Associação Brasileira de Antropologia VIBRANT - Vibrant Virtual Brazilian Anthropology (Brasil) Num.2 Vol.5
