- RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCES AMONG BRAZILIAN MIGRANTS Lucia Ribeiro Multidisciplinarias (Ciencias Sociales) USA Migration Brazilians in Florida Keywords: Religious experience The migratory context may offer favorable conditions to intensify religiousness,even though there is no deterministic relation in it. In this paper, based on aresearch undertaken with Brazilians immigrants in South Florida, we analyzethe multiple forms through which they live their religious experiences. Forthem, churches represent networks of self-support, social spaces, re-affirmationof national identity, as well as a collective expression of faith.
