This article presents the design of a guidance system made of an I-LOS controller, where its purpose is to achieve the convergence and the precise following of straight paths, regardless of the sea currents presence. The controller gains adjustment is performed according to the vehicle features and the geometry of the path to follow. The proposed guidance algorithm is assessed through simulation, obtaining favorable results. 2018 artículo científico 1692-5238 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=411556117004 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/4115/411556117004/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/4115/411556117004/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/4115/411556117004/411556117004.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/4115/411556117004/movil https://doi.org/10.18046/syt.v16i46.3088 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=4115 Sistemas & Telemática application/pdf Universidad ICESI Sistemas & Telemática (Colombia) Num.46 Vol.16
