| contents | Subjetividad e Inmaterialismo en la filosofía de George Berkeley Santiago Echeverri Filosofía Frequently, Berkeleys immaterialism has been misunderstood, despite itsgreat importance in Berkeleys thought. Two reasons could explain this fact:first, it has been judged that the denial of matter contradicts the commonsense view; and second, one could think that the immaterialism thesis wasonly justified by the theological purports of Berkeleys research. Contraryto those views, the article proposes a strictly philosophical analysis ofBerkeleys denial of matter, which seeks to make a critical exposition of itsmain arguments. Such an analyse leads to an examination of the relationshipbetween Berkeleys immaterialism and the philosophers conceptionof subjectivity. Firstly, the author disagrees with the immaterialism thesis, for its central argument rests on a problematical interpretation of mind.Secondly, the author proposes to value Berkeleys immaterialism, from ahistorical stand point, as a more consistent view of subjectivity than thoseof his predecessors: Descartes and Locke. 2002 artículo científico 0124-4620 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=41400708 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=414 Revista Colombiana de Filosofía de la Ciencia application/pdf Universidad El Bosque Revista Colombiana de Filosofía de la Ciencia (Colombia) Num.7 Vol.3 |
