contents Efficient Modulation Formats for High Bit-Rate Fiber Transmission A. García-Pérez H. Gutiérrez-Martín J. A. Andrade-Lucio O. G. Ibarra-Manzano M. Trejo-Duran E. Alvarado-Méndez Multidisciplinarias (Ciencias Sociales) The topic of this report will deal with the study of advanced modulation formats for highspeedoptical communication systems. Basically, the use of alternate polarization modulation(alP) is considered in order to reduce the inter-symbol interference (ISI) caused mainlyby effects such as Chromatic Dispersion (CD), Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD) andNonlinear effects. The comparative analysis among the different formats is carried out bymeans of the obtaining of its different spectrums. A detailed analysis of these and theirdependency to the modulation format that generates it is presented. The article presentsnumerical comparative analysis using commercial software VPI Maker Transmission, wherethe results obtained show that the formats of alternating polarization are the best resultsat the bit rate of 40 Gb/s per channel 2006 artículo científico 0188-6266 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=41616203 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=416 Acta Universitaria application/pdf Universidad de Guanajuato Acta Universitaria (México) Num.2 Vol.16
