  • Main determinants of tenure choice in Spain: cross-analysis of distinct city size Melchior Sawaya Neto Multidisciplinarias (Ciencias Sociales) Tenure choice decision affordability indicators differencesin parameters estimates and citieswith distinct sizes Many governments design homogeneous housing policies for thewhole country without consideringdifferences in economic preferencesof households living in cities withdistinct sizes. The problem with thispractice is that households in largerlocalities may face stronger budgetary restrictions than those living insmaller ones because of higherhousing prices and worse affordabiltty conditions. To deal with this issuea set of tenure choice models areestimated to represent the households' preferences in Spanish citiesof different sizes: big, medium orsmall localities. The results showinteresting differences in parameterestimates for groups usually object of public policy such as younghousehold heads and single mem-ber families. Disregarding these dif-ferences can cause serious prob-lems of non-participation in govern-ment programs. 2007 artículo científico 2395-9169 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=41702902 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=417 Estudios Sociales Revista de Alimentación Contemporánea y Desarrollo Regional application/pdf Centro de Investigación en Alimentación y Desarrollo A.C.
