- Comparación de tres pruebas diagnósticas para el aborto por rinotraqueítis infecciosa bovina en hatos lecheros Alfa Bracho Cárdenas Arturo Olguín y Bernal Juan Antonio Montaño Hirose Carlos J. Jaramillo Arango José Juan Martínez Maya Multidisciplinaria (Ciencias Naturales y Exactas) IBR ABORTION DIAGNOSIS DIAGNOSTIC TEST The present study compares the specifi city (Sp) and sensibility (Se), as well as the positive (+PV) and negative predictive (PV)values of immunoperoxidase (IP) and immunofl uorescence (IF) tests for the diagnosis of abortions caused by IBR, as well as theirconcordance with serum neutralization in the dams of the fetuses, compared against a standard test of viral isolation.(VI) Fortynineaborted fetuses, obtained over a one-year period, were evaluated. Liver, spleen, kidney and lung samples were collectedfrom each fetus. Serum from the dams was collected on three occasions, one month apart, starting immediately after the abortion.Samples were taken from animals in Agricultural and Industrial Complex of Tizayuca (CAIT) Tizayuca, Hidalgo, and thediagnostic technique was carried out in National Center of Diagnostic Services in Animal Health (CENASA) as prescribed by theWorld Organization for Animal Health (OIE). A total of 29 viral isolations of IBR were obtained. The immunoperoxidase (IP) andimmunofl uorescence (IF) techniques had a sensitivity of 96.7% and 24.1%, respectively, and a specifi city of 20% and 70%, respectively. The positive predictive values for these were 64.4% and 53.8%, respectively, while the negative predictive values were 80%and 38.9%, respectively. The concordance for both tests was bad. Of the organs sampled, the liver and kidney were the best forIF and IP diagnosis of IBR, respectively. Concordance for serum neutralization, immunofl uorescence and immunoperoxidase inrelation to viral isolation was not signifi cant (P > 0.05). 2006 artículo científico 0301-5092 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=42337201 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=423 Veterinaria México application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Veterinaria México (México) Num.2 Vol.37
