  • El uso de la ultrasonografía para el diagnóstico de la cisticercosis porcina Sara C. Herrera García Aline S. de Aluja Rosa Elena Méndez Aguilar Multidisciplinaria (Ciencias Naturales y Exactas) DIAGNOSIS ULTRASOUND METACESTODE TAENIA SOLIUM PORCINE CYSTICERCOSIS Teniasis-Cysticercosis continues to be a serious problem in many regions of Mexico and other developing countries. This zoono-sis has economic, sanitary and health implications. The rural porcine industry faces considerable economic losses. The sanitary implications refer to the lack of hygiene in many rural communities (there are no toilets, or they are not being used; there is no potable water, etc.) and the diagnosis and treatment of human patients is very costly. One of the problems for the control of the disease is defi cient diagnosis of cysticercosis in the pig. The correct identifi cation of infected pigs, withdrawing them from the food chain, is one of the recommended strategies to interrupt the cycle. Recently, at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry of the National Autonomous University of Mexico it has been confi rmed that ultrasound is a noninvasive and highly sensitive method to observe muscular cysticerci in infected pigs. 2007 artículo científico 0301-5092 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=42338110 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=423 Veterinaria México application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Veterinaria México (México) Num.1 Vol.38
