contents Phylogeny and revision of Erpobdelliformes (Annelida, Arhynchobdellida) from Mexico based on nuclear and mithochondrial gene sequences Mark E. Siddall Alejandro Oceguera Figueroa Virginia León Régagnon Biología COI 12S 18S México leeches The phylogenetic relationships of the suborder Erpobdelliformes, a group of non-sanguivorous leeches, wereinvestigated with the use of mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I, mitochondrial 12S rDNA and nuclear 18S rDNA.The resulting hypothesis indicates that Erpobdellidae and Salifi dae are monophyletic and each other closest relatives. Wedetect, for fi rst time in leeches, intra-specifi c variation of similar amount than inter-specifi c variation. We formally resurrectthe name Erpobdella mexicana, proposed by Dugès for Mexican specimens, and recommend the use of the name Erpobdellaochoterenai rather than Erpobdella microstoma for Mexican specimens. We record an invasive species of the family Salifi dae:Barbronia arcana in Mexico, representing the fi rst record of the species outside Australia, fi rst record of the family in Mexicoand third in the New World. 2005 artículo científico 1870-3453 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=42576204 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=425 Revista Mexicana de Biodiversidad application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Biodiversidad (México) Num.2 Vol.76
