The characteristic metabolites found in this genus are xanthones and benzophenones, which have antioxidant properties, among relevant biological potentials. This review provides a specific vision about antioxidant activity of Garcinia species, reporting in vitro and in vivo assays, described from the last five years. The research about antioxidant properties of Garcinia species and their constituents can be directed in the development of new medicines and drugs. 2023 artículo científico 0100-4670 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=42976206003 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/429/42976206003/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/429/42976206003/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/429/42976206003/42976206003.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/429/42976206003/movil https://doi.org/10.26850/1678-4618eqj.v48.1.2023.p41-54 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=429 Eclética Química application/pdf Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho Eclética Química (Brasil) Num.1 Vol.48 |
