contents Dynamic and static measurements of small strain moduli of toyoura sand Manuel Builes Carlos Alberto Riveros Edwin García Ingeniería Triaxial test accelerometer shear modulus bender element Young’s modulus A series of triaxial tests were performed on specimens made of Toyoura sandhaving different dry densities. Very small unloading/ reloading cycles wereapplied to obtain “static” Young’s modulus. Furthermore, as the “dynamic”measurements, two types of wave propagation techniques were applied; oneusing Bender elements, and the other one using piezoelectric actuators toexcite primary and secondary waves. Based on these static and dynamicmeasurements, we discuss the following aspects: 1) the difference amongthe three types of dynamic measurements, 2) the relationships between thedynamic and static measurement results and 3) the effects of stress stateinducedanisotropy and dry densities of the specimens. 2008 artículo científico 0120-6230 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=43004309 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=430 Revista Facultad de Ingeniería Universidad de Antioquia application/pdf Universidad de Antioquia Revista Facultad de Ingeniería Universidad de Antioquia (Colombia) Num.43
