- Effect of the Brassinosteroid Analogs BB-6 and MH-5 on proteins metabolism in sugarcane somatic embryogenesis Ramiro Castillo Justo L. González Miriam Núñez Kirenia Rodríguez Nadina Nieves Mariela Cid Agrociencias Free proline storage proteins total soluble proteins plant growth regulators Brassinosteroid analogs (BRs), BB-6and MH-5, were evaluated during sugarcane(Saccharum spp.) somatic embryogenesis, andtheir effect correlated to protein metabolism.Calli with embryogenic structures were culturedon a differentiation medium, supplemented with2 concentrations of BB-6 and MH-5 (0.001and 0.01 mg l-1, respectively). A free hormonetreatment and one with NAA were used ascontrols. Regarding somatic embryos production,no differences were found between controltreatments and both BRs at high concentration. Both BRs influenced total soluble proteins, storage proteins, and free-proline levels. Changesin free-proline levels can be an indication thatBRs may be involved in stress responses. 2007 artículo científico 0377-9424 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=43631211 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=436 Agronomía Costarricense application/pdf Universidad de Costa Rica Agronomía Costarricense (Costa Rica) Num.2 Vol.31
