contents A new Lycaste (Orchidaceae: Maxillariinae) from Costa Rica Diego Bogarín Biología Lycaste Orchidaceae Costa Rica new species DNA barcoding Lycaste bruncana from Costa Rica is described and illustrated. This species is sister to L. tricol-or, its closest relative, from which is easily distinguished by the lip shape, with a narrow isthmus andspathulate midlobe, the lanate to lanulose infrastigmatic surface, the pollinarium with a longer stipe, thesubrectangular pollinia and the tomentose anther cap. However, among Costa Rican species of Lycaste, themost remarkable character of L. bruncanais the twisted column, which may be indicative of a reproductivebarrier. Information related to biogeography, distribution, morphology, molecular data and pollination isprovided and discusse 2007 artículo científico 1409-3871 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=44339814010 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=443 Lankesteriana International Journal on Orchidology application/pdf Universidad de Costa Rica Lankesteriana International Journal on Orchidology (Costa Rica) Num.3 Vol.7
