contents Performing the Hyphen Miki Seifert Arte Butoh Māori Colonisation Decolonisation Epistemological Pluralism The goal of this paper is to present a decolonising research methodology. The first section of this paper problematises western knowledge production, using Aníbal Quijano’s colonial matrix of power. The second section theorises how an epistemological pluralism that is critical, decolonising and performative could address western knowledge production and the colonial matrix of power. The third section discusses how this methodology has been applied to Butoh to develop Critical Butoh. The final section presents He rawe tona kakahu/ She wore a becoming dress, a Butoh performance exploring the intersection of gender and colonisation, as a practical application of this methodology. 2018 artículo científico 2237-2660 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=463558199003 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/4635/463558199003/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/4635/463558199003/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/4635/463558199003/463558199003.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/4635/463558199003/movil 10.1590/2237-266078758 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=4635 Revista Brasileira de Estudos da Presença [Brazilian Journal on Presence Studies] application/pdf Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul Revista Brasileira de Estudos da Presença [Brazilian Journal on Presence Studies] (Brasil) Num.4 Vol.8
