contents Probability distribution of the order parameter P. H. L. Martins J. A. Plascak Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas The probability distribution of the order parameter is analyzed in order to obtain the criticality of magneticsystems. Monte Carlo simulations have been employed by using single spin flip Metropolis algorithm aidedby finite-size scaling and histogram reweighting techniques. A method is proposed to obtain this probabilitydistribution even when the transition temperature of the model is unknown. A test is performed on the twodimensionalspin-1/2 and spin-1 Ising model and the results show that the present procedure can be quiteefficient and accurate to describe the criticality of the system. 2004 artículo científico 0103-9733 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=46434220 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=464 Brazilian Journal of Physics application/pdf Sociedade Brasileira de Física Brazilian Journal of Physics (Brasil) Num.2A Vol.34
