  • Vibrational Structure of Organic Semiconductors: The Role of Conjugation Length A. Marletta R. M. Faria C. A. M. Borges F. E. G. Guimarães Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas Site-selective luminescence spectroscopy (SSL) was employed to resolve the vibracional modes in selfassembledpoly(p-phenylene vinylene), PPV. Using Franck-Condon analysis, the PPV spectra can be welldescribed by three effective vibrational modes at 330, 1160 and 1550 cm¡1. As the temperature increasesfrom 4 to 180 K the electron-phonon coupling (S factor) remains constant for the 1550 cm¡1 mode while forother lower energy modes the coupling increases monotonically. This trend is consistent with the decrease ofthe conjugation length due to the increase of thermal disorder. We find that the temperature dependence ofvibrational progression in PPV films is determined mainly by low frequency torsional modes. 2004 artículo científico 0103-9733 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=46434412 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=464 Brazilian Journal of Physics application/pdf Sociedade Brasileira de Física Brazilian Journal of Physics (Brasil) Num.2B Vol.34
