Bardayan Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas The availability of radioactive beams has produced great opportunities for advances in our understanding of thenucleosynthesis occurring in stellar explosions such as novae, X-ray bursts, and supernovae. At the HRIBF,we have used proton-rich beams such as 17;18F and neutron-rich beams such as 82Ge to study astrophysicallyimportantreaction rates. Large-area detector arrays and kinematically-complete measurements have been usedto overcome the challenges of low beam currents and beam impurities.
