contents JLab: Probing Hadronic Physics with Electrons and Photons Elton S. Smith Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas Precision measurements of the structure of nucleons and nuclei in the regime of strong interaction QCD are nowpossible with the availability of high current polarized electron beams, polarized targets, and recoil polarimeters,in conjunction with modern spectrometers and detector instrumentation. The physics at JLab will be highlightedusing two recent measurements of general interest. The ratio of the proton electric to magnetic form factorsindicates the importance of the role of angular momentum in the structure of the nucleon. The existence of5-quark configurations in the ground state wavefunctions of hadrons is confirmed by a narrow peak attributedto an exotic baryon with strangeness S=+1. These and other examples will be used to illustrate the capabilitiesand focus of the experimental program at JLab. 2004 artículo científico 0103-9733 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=46434554 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=464 Brazilian Journal of Physics application/pdf Sociedade Brasileira de Física Brazilian Journal of Physics (Brasil) Num.3A Vol.34
