Added Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas Three different substrates for the analysis of liquid samples by Total Reflection X-Ray Fluorescence with SynchrotronRadiation (SR-TXRF) were investigated and compared: Lucite (Perspex), Kimfoil and Mylar. Drytargets were prepared by pipetting 5 ¹l aliquotes of the liquid samples (synthetic standards and fresh watersamples) on the different substrates. A five fold reduction of the continuous background and a correspondingreduction of the elementary detection limits were observed when thin polymer film substrates were used insteadof the common thick Perspex substrate. 2004 artículo científico 0103-9733 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=46434571 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=464 Brazilian Journal of Physics application/pdf Sociedade Brasileira de Física Brazilian Journal of Physics (Brasil) Num.3A Vol.34
