contents Bose Mott-Insulators as Closed Shells A. F. R. de Toledo Piza Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas Properties of the ground-state, zero temperature ‘phase diagram’ of the Bose-Hubbard hamiltonian as understoodby Fisher et al. [5] are studied using simple tools in the case of finite systems. The results obtainedprovide a transparent picture of the thermodynamic limit and reveal features reminiscent of shell structure inmany-fermion systems. Independent sites and many-site correlations appear in correspondence with independentfermions and many-fermion correlations respectively. This paper is dedicated to Nicim Zagury, on theoccasion of his seventieth birthday. 2005 artículo científico 0103-9733 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=46435106 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=464 Brazilian Journal of Physics application/pdf Sociedade Brasileira de Física Brazilian Journal of Physics (Brasil) Num.1 Vol.35
