- The Coester Line in Relativistic Mean Field Nuclear Matter A. Delfino J. S. Sá Martins M. Malheiro V. S. Timóteo Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas The Walecka model contains essentially two parameters that are associated with the Lorentz scalar (S) andvector (V ) interactions. These parameters are related to a two-body interaction consisting of S and V , imposingthe condition that the two-body binding energy is fixed. We have obtained a set of different values for thenuclear matter binding energies (BN) at equilibrium densities (½o). We investigated the existence of a linearcorrelation between BN and ½o, claimed to be universal for nonrelativistic systems and usually known as theCoester line, and found an approximate linear correlation only if V ¡ S remains constant. It is shown that therelativistic content of the model, which is related to the strength of V ¡ S , is responsible for the shift of theCoester line to the empirical region of nuclear matter saturation. 2005 artículo científico 0103-9733 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=46435116 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=464 Brazilian Journal of Physics application/pdf Sociedade Brasileira de Física Brazilian Journal of Physics (Brasil) Num.1 Vol.35
